You know, I know several people who love Alaska precisely because it's laid-back and unpretentious, and I can certainly appreciate those qualities. But frankly, when I've had nothing but laid-back and unpretentious for most of my life, I'm willing to accept a touch of pretension now and again if it also comes with a dose of quality and a heaping tablespoon of class. 'Cos I don't know about you, but I get kinda tired of ordering gin and tonics after a while. :)
