I'd actually noticed some resemblance in your description of your relationship with Pat and mine with Ian. But I don't get the sense that Pat has a constant set of completely unreasonable expectations that he consistently expects everyone around him to live up to, and gets angry at them (and himself) when they (and he) don't do so. ;)
