4:40 AM, the phone rings.
Nice and light outside, if a bit gray. My watch broke yesterday in some unpleasantness with my mother. I don't have a clock in my room except the two computers. My laptop's off, so I check the new computer for the time - which hasn't been set properly and says something like 1:39 PM. I panic, knowing I'm late for volunteering. I go out of my room; the light doesn't quite look right. I head to the bathroom, look at the clock and realize the time.
Sometimes I hate living in a place where there are no diurnal cues...
