Revisionist history much?
Aug. 14th, 2008 09:42 amJohn McCain has written an editorial for the Wall Street Journal, entitled "We Are All Georgians". It's not a bad piece - obviously he's put some thought into it, and its major thrust (that we need to shore up NATO and our international peacekeeping system) is definitely worthy of consideration.
But I have to admit, I'm having a hard time getting past the opening line:
For anyone who thought that stark international aggression was a thing of the past, the last week must have come as a startling wake-up call.
Because gee, I can't think of any incidents of unprovoked high-intensity military invasion of an independent nation by a major international superpower in the last ten years...can you?
