Brian recently bought us (and by "us", I mean "mostly me") a black 4 GB iPod Nano, which is just the coolest gadget ever - it's tiny and lightweight and holds the vast majority of my music collection. Since my car stereo doesn't have an auxillary input jack, he also got us a TuneBase - basically a little FM radio transmitter that plugs into the iPod and sends the music over FM signals so you can listen to it on your car stereo. Also a very nifty little gadget. In any case, we were listening to the Goo Goo Dolls this morning when we pulled up in the drive-thru-espresso line behind another car - and suddenly we were listening to rap music. Guess they were using the same frequency with a stronger transmitter. It was pretty funny - one moment it was the Goo Goo Dolls, then the next moment it was rap music, and then a few seconds later it was the Goo Goo Dolls again as the car in front of us pulled away.

In other music-related news, I just bought a whole bunch of CDs off of Half.com and whatnot - I've been meaning to expand my collection for some time now, but have been trying to save money, so my "to-buy" list kept getting longer and longer. I didn't get everything on the list (would've probably burned me about $150 - some of the CDs I want are from groups that aren't exactly mainstream), but I was able to get the majority of the albums I wanted for about $80 altogether with shipping. Not bad, considering that the same albums new off Amazon would've been closer to $130, even with their free shipping (and that's not including the out-of-print ones). Highlights include several Melissa Etheridge and Annie Lennox albums, a couple from the Mediaeval Baebes, a couple from Alanis Morrisette, and a "Best of" from Dead Can Dance - I've heard conflicting reports from people who alternately liked and disliked their music, but it sounded like something I'd like and most people seemed to agree the album was a good intro to the band. It'll be nice to have some new music to listen to.

Okay, now for getting some actual work-type stuff done...
