Ooookay...
Aug. 11th, 2005 10:18 amAnyone who knows me at all well knows my opinions on debt - specifically, that it sucks and that I'll only use my lone credit card if I'm going to be able to pay off the debt in the next month (so far I haven't accumulated a single cent worth of interest, something of which I'm rather proud). Ironically enough, Fells Wargo has recently seen fit to extend the credit line on my Secured Student (read: incredibly-high-interest-rate) Visa from $1000 to $1500. This sort of puzzles me, since I've never even maxed it out - the most I've ever charged was slightly more than $500 for car repairs (which, again, were immediately paid off). I've never had a balance carried over from a previous month or paid them anything in interest, which probably means they're losing money on the deal - there's no annual fee or anything involved. So why the new limit? Maybe they figure that, since I'm a student and therefore broke, if they give me enough rope I'll give in to the temptation and hang myself financially?
Huh. Weird world, this land of "credit" is.
Sometimes I do wish I could live the way other people do, though...part of me would really like to be going "Woohoo! $500 more to spend on useless crap!" =)
