Boo. Yeah.
Mar. 2nd, 2005 11:37 amIn addition to a lack of vibrations (I think the parking brake might've been partway on but I'm not sure), my car has a new rear windshield, and the defogger works now...admittedly, not as strongly as I'd like, but that's still better than what it used to do (i.e. zilch). I also came out a few bucks ahead on the deal - the original quote included new moldings, but apparently the company that was supposed to send the Emerald Glass guy moldings didn't, so he just used the original ones and didn't charge me for them. Great service, friendly guy, quick work...I'd definitely recommend Emerald Glass if anyone here in town is in need of such services.
As I might've mentioned earlier, I also sent the woman at the state a nice thank-you card...nothing too personal, as I didn't want to come off as creepy (how sad is it that what used to be common courtesy often is seen as creepy nowadays?) but a nice one. I just wanted to let her know that I appreciated her help to no end, as I would've had plastic and duct tape on my car a heckuva lot longer had it not been for her. But my car looks all pretty now. =)
Yesterday was kind of a good day in general. In addition to getting my windshield fixed, I worked things out with my acting teacher so I'm not so stressed about the upcoming production. I think the combination of that and February being FINALLY OVER has helped my overall mood immensely. Plus it was my mother's birthday yesterday, so I called to wish her a happy birthday. And I spent the extra $30 or so on dinner for Brian and I - we went to Pizzaria Roma and had one of the best pizzas I'd ever eaten. Something with feta cheese and sun dried tomatoes and Greek olives. If my G(r)eek friend Jon from Barrow ever visits, I'm going to have to take him there. And I discovered a nifty new wine. Time to update my wine list...
And in other good news, Danél recruited me to work full-time over Spring Break, so that'll be a bit of extra money to save. Gives me a bit more margin for error with my whole saving goal...yay. =)
Wow, life is so much better when you're not desperate and scared.
