When it rains...
Oct. 27th, 2004 08:40 amDividend check, Secondspin.com package, and package from my mother all got here the same day. Once again, I got 70% of mine, the rest withheld because the IRS still hasn't gotten my Social Security number straight with the PFD division. (I was hoping they might have cleared that up since I changed my name with the Social Security people, but no soap.) Ah, well; there's always tax time to look forward to, and an extra couple hundred dollar credit certainly isn't going to cause any complaints with me. Now, if only I could still get direct deposit of my dividend and a nice fat tax return every year...
My mother, who's just recently gotten back from the wilds of New England, sent me a couple of nice things, inlcuding a periwinkle blue shirt that reads " 'Always you have to contend with the stupidity of men.' --Henry D. Thoreau". All hail changing social contexts. ;) Since we're reading Walden in American Lit, I think I'm going to have to wear that to class tomorrow...
And thanks to SecondSpin.com, I am now the proud owner of the first two Celtic Twilight CD's, Loreena McKennitt's new(er) Christmas album, and the complete series of The Critic. So I'll have plenty of stuff to listen to while I'm sitting at home waiting for my car to get fixed. ;)
Speaking of which, Marian goes in today for surgery...everyone pray that the mechanics are good to her and she doesn't decide to be too expensive. I'd really prefer to be able to afford snow tires this season...
And, off to yoga class.
