It's an absolutely frelling gorgeous day outside. Patches of sun alternating with patches of cloud, lovely yellow and green trees, just cool enough to let you know that it's definitely autumn...wow. It's been a long time since I felt this happy to just be alive.
Went to the nurse today and got my yearly pap smear...also known as That Odd Little Torture Session Where They Poke Pointy and Pinchy Things Into Your Private Parts (or Girly Bits, as I prefer to call them, but that doesn't have the same alliteration thing going for it). I've been having a recurring urinary infection for about a year now, so she's going to send the samples for chlamydia/gonorrhea testing. I seriously doubt I have anything like that, but it's always good to check...meantime, if it starts acting up again, I can go and get pills for it. Yum. Meantime, I've got a couple months' worth of a new type of pill called Mircette; we'll see if it's any better than the Desogen for stress-related mood swings.
I also made my very first purchase with my credit card...used it to get gas. (Which will be promptly paid off on Friday, when I get my paycheck.) Mileage came to just over 19 mpg. Considering that I've mostly been using the car to go from here to class and back (yes, I know, I'm incredibly lazy), and given that the exhaust manifold leak is probably knocking down mileage a bit, that sounds about right. I think over the next week I might have to stop using it for the back-and-forth between class and whatnot and just use it for actual non-walkable distances (or non-easily-walkable, anyway). Save gas, better for the environment, etc. See what that does mileage-wise.
I have pictures of my Halloween costume...will be posting those once I get around to cropping and resizing.
Hope everyone's having as good of a day as I am. ;)
