The worst seems to be over...

First off, a bit of a tangentially-related rant: There is no love lost between the modern medical profession and me. Brian had to call about four different places this morning before he was able to find someone who could see me today - the one we've been to before was booked up, and one place informed him over the phone that they "were not a walk-in clinic"...I guess that means you have to be psychic, so that you know when you're going to get sick and can make an appointment ahead of time? Anyway, we finally found a doctor named April Sapp (and who, perhaps unsurprisingly, prefers to go by "April") who could see me, and who (happily enough) is located less than a mile away. It was pretty easily the most painless medical experience I've had here in Juneau - she was very kind and seemed quite knowledgable. So here's hoping she's available next time I need to go somewhere.
Anyway, she told me that I'm showing classic signs of viral gastroenteritis - apparently it just hits you out of nowhere and generally lasts a few days. The good news is that (assuming this is the case) the worst is over. The first 24 hours really suck and then you gradually start feeling better. I hope this is the case - I'm not sure I can afford to miss another day of work.
She also gave me a sheet with dietary advice, mostly lots of bland foods. She also told me to get some Gatorade to replace all the electrolytes I'd lost, so I'm drinking that, even though it quite honestly tastes like flavored sweat. Better than being dehydrated, though. Between the Hatorade and some Cream of Wheat I'm feeling quite a bit better, though still far from 100%.
Anyway, I should probably go get some more sleep. Here's hoping I'm well enough tomorrow to go to work...
